The Dark Lord Rises - version 0.2.7a

Ugh, finally! After whole month, I'd like to present you with new release The Dark Lord Rises - 0.27a!

This update is kinda unique one, in many aspects. First of all, it begins a new arc in a story. Say goodbye to Avonlica - our hero and his friends will finally move into new location. There is also a lot more of H content - I counted six major H scenes, plus a bit of teasing here and there :).

Another thing, this update is very... hmm... lore-heavy, and less RPG-ey. Expect much less battles than in previous update. I counted that 0.27a adds more than additional hour of gameplay.

For those that finished previous version but didn't keep their saves, I added an option to skip entire Avonlica arc. Simply talk to the old man in front of Renan's house and answer a few questions about your choices.

Next update should follow shortly and focus solely on bugfixing.  I hope you'll enjoy the game!

  2. I would like to recommend releasing an unencrypted version, and getting someone to go over all the typos. There are a fuckton of them.

  3. so this is impressive but you need to add in the ability to stop or slow the text for the h scenes but most importantly you need to edit you sentence structure there are a lot of mistakes i had to edit it my self because it was hard to read.

    though your state system is the most impressive iv'e seen in a rpg maker game so congratulations there

    1. If you use alt+enter in RPG maker games to to change between Full screen and window. When in window click outside the game's window box and freeze the game(and any moving text at that time). But changing to a text box to full screen or just must of it, then the text would have stop points would be nicer

  5. in monster garden there is a crystal you can break to get a crystal shard. it is near a rest spot, if you break it, then rest, the crystal respawns and you can break it a second time for a second shard

  6. in the ducal palace there is a box with 4x mana potion 2x smelling salts, you can open it an infinite amount of times getting more stuff every time

  7. 1. Leonette's room, every time you enter or leave it triggers the same repeated dialog comment
    2. After being in the inn, you are dropped down, in the tunnels beneath there is a resting spot of water, a bit after it there is a spot where the dialog repeats infinitely every time you pass it

    1. to clarify by infinite repeat i don't mean it gets stuck, i mean you hear it, move , then step on it again and hear the same banter again

    2. there is a lot of that happening actually the worst one i found was when you get knocked down into the cave with all the imps i had to run back to the healing fountain a few times just to be safe and i kept running into that four or five page dialog about wishing we had a explosion type caster with us.

  8. After "defeating" the succubus, and leaving the first city, you stay at an inn, where you get horney and have choices between fapping, netta, or singer. if you choose singer the screen is just blank for a few seconds and then you get the same choice agwain

  9. Just gave it another run-through after giving up on the previous version.

    My concerns remain the same.

    Battle is horribly unbalanced, enemies are *way* too strong, particularly since there are no healing potions available to buy, and no working healing spells. (regeneration is constantly grayed out, in combat and out)

    I was also disheartened with no H-scenes, rather just the text. For enemies to be as strong as they are here, i would expect a larger payoff.

    Story is well written, and it's a good overall concept, but it's just more effort than i'm willing to put in for some scrolling text.

    It's possible there are some images farther in that i have never gotten to or something, but i just quit at the point where you return to the town after killing the teacher in the monster garden.

    after having to face two sets of overpowered guards with a wounded team and no way to heal anyone, i decided i was done

    Bugs i noted:

    I the palace laundry room, before you face the second set of guards in the rescue attempt, the box containing mana potions and smelling salts is exploitable, you can keep getting the potions from it to 99 each.

    Also, i noticed that the save points seem to be bugged.... When I load a save point, (same save point loaded multiple times, the health bounced around. Sometimes i would log in full health, other times 264 health, other times 84 health... All from the same save point.

    Good luck in the endeavor.

    If the risk / reward gets ironed out, i may attempt it again.

  11. can something be done about the difficulty first i have trouble with the duchy manor

    now i have trouble with the zombie invasion by the time you get to that you have barely any mp and or health items left i am not that good with games with this diffulty

    in that regards ill stop playing atleast temporarly

    ps. mabey an idea to remove atleast one battle once you are done with the palladin HQ

  12. also is there going to be an option to chose difficulty like easy normal hard

    currently in my opinion the game is impossible i do like the game but this kinda game is way to difficult no matter how many times i try ?

  13. I looked into the crashing problem I'm having (and had before) more, and found something in the RPG Maker forums that was posted by a global mod that may fix it: http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/17400-hidden-gameexe-crash-debugger-graphical-object-global-reference-ace/

    If you're using custom scripts, the problem I'm having could be on your end even though it doesn't happen for you.

  15. Ducal Palace is extremely hard if its not by the laundry chest bug it would be impossible, now im trapped in the battle after you rescue Alinor i have no healt or mana and cant even use revives because there are so many guards.

  18. ehhh no hes not getting corrupted hes living from what i can tell true that he is more evilish but what do you think would happen with tainted blood of a demon lord or dark one? but if i have to say the game has two big problems mana regeneration true we have a high number to start but we lack items that restore mp and money you cant buy new stuff or anything with healing for the first have of the town raid of zombies almost died need more mp potions

  19. really loving this game it's by far one of the best i have played in a while there are still a lot of bugs from what i can see but the story and dialog really out way the cons as far as i'm concerned.

    As for those bugs i mentioned i'll try to name any major ones i find or have already come across.

    - first of all there is a lot of spelling errors in the early portion of the game they seem to thin out a little after the garden but are still present.

    - a small exploit i found inside the castle was that you could repeatedly take the mana bottles and stimulants from the little lock-box allowing you to get a stack of 99 of each. i would also like to mention that this wasn't game breaking mainly because of the shier number of potions you needed to take to fill up your mana bar, i burned through them in a few battles.

    -one of the biggest bugs i have found so far though is when you are going back to the place filled with cultists if you try to leave the cave it takes you backwards in the story to when you where setting by the campfire in the woods.

    -and this wasn't as bad for the simple reason that i kept skipping through the dialog by accidentally pressing shift if you go through certain areas where the dialog was tied to a point any time you step there again the dialog will repeat.

  21. Please give us the ability to purchase better weapons and equipment for the characters more often. The only times that do so either give you give you stuff that most of your characters can't even equip or it's completely outdated by the time you get to the shop.

  22. the old temple/ruin castle was nice but you should have added more treasure or rares it did seem it was lacking. but i did love the betrayal and the great succubus coming back just for "him" but aren't they controlled by the dark lord?! that did confuse me after I reaching her lair... Then i saw the our hero trap her in a human form and she followed his orders and not even ask about him in general which reinforced my confusion.
