The Dark Lord Rises will be back!
That comes to me especially easy since it seems that no one bothered with continuing my original project (or at least, is hiding it from me :>). Also, since I learned the software as I created TDLR, there are some shortcuts and solutions in original that made my head ache over and over during development. I can avoid most of those starting a new game with MV.
Now, this means Noblesse Oblige for now goes to the side*. Well, that's one of the reasons why I don't bother with Patreon; I like to work on something I like, not force myself to reach some deadline or other commitment.
When shall new Dark Lord come out? Christmas, probably, autumn at best. I'd like it to be more than prologue and short story arc, and to tinker with graphics some more, so the game at least doesn't look like generic RPGMaker product.
Also, I love the dictionary script by Endless Illision, so prepare for some heavy lore fest :P

As someone who came across the original just shortly after it had been canceled, I will look forward to enjoying this new journey.

ReplyDeleteWell, just for my defend you said that anyone can use what you left of TDLR so I just used it resigneed that you would continue this proyect. That's why I waited some time to make a continue to the game so I'll stop. I just maked what I maked for anyone that wanted a continue but I'll upload what I made to this day if you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteSince you have decided to continue making this awesome game. Could you add something like an inner world for the main character that lets him comunicate with his "taint". Something like the dreem world (Some place that actually changes as he changes.Like as he levels the fortification of his inner castle should get stronger or how he lost his mana pool with out his "taint")

I found it randomly and it catch my attention played it 15hrs and counting... well I hope you give us a few more choices in changing back and wish to get Lafinia back and giving Celeste a bad time. ReplyDeleteSo far, this game is one of the hardest I've ever played, and honestly not in a good way. The number of times having to reset simply due to a single normal fight, and more importantly, no way to sleep to recover or even attempt to level up in... that, plus the damn scarcity of items.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if it weren't for the great story and characters, I would have dumped playing the game due to the gameplay being ridiculous hard mode a large way through it.
...thankfully, you DO write great characters and characterizations, so that helps enough to stick to it. But only just.
Agh! I've been trying for hours upon hours. There's no damn way to beat Skunk. Especially with her having one hit kill capacity against the team and that damn heal when she's nearly dead.-_-'
ReplyDeleteAlso, Enchanted Potions don't work properly. They say they restore EP, when they restore TP. And Fear isn't working on Skunk. She gets the ailment... then it just doesn't work on her. Fear doesn't stop her actions. At all.

ReplyDeleteAnd after killing the headmaster, the sprites are all sorts of wrong. Reina talks to the other professor that was super strong(forgot his name), and he's not even on screen. Nor is one of the trio that show up. They're completely off-screen.
ReplyDeleteFinally caught up. Loved the game so far. I do hope there's a way to regain lost girls, like Lafina, maybe through some spare temporal energy still attached to Reina and encountering her corpse somehow. Or something.
