Divinion 2.0: Apex - release!

Hello again!

As promised with last State of the Game, I come to you with "final" version of Divinion. Forgive me for the delay; when I was writing my last post, the ending was already done, but changes made to overall stroyboard forced me to switch things a little. As a result, large chunk of final chapter had to be either redone or scrapped entirely.

To be clear, new content in Apex is not that long, at least compared to 1.0. However, 2.0 brings not only a new adventure, but also some changes to previous areas. First of all, early game enemies were made easier. On the other hand, some bosses have been tweaked to offer more resistance to more hardened parties. Crafting materials are a bit more abundant around the world. A few new conversations were added to fill some gaps within strory and lore. And of course, as per every update, armies of typos were mercilessly exterminated :)

Here's the download link for 2.0 I hope you'll enjoy the game!

Ah, finally! Truth be told, those last few months have been a slog. Limitations of RPG Maker are beginning to weight on me, but I want to at least finish the Renan's story as it is. As I wrote two months ago,  one of the reasons for how short Apex was, were my experimentations with various optional plugins and systems that could make the game more interesting. Problem is, I still didn't really find the satysfying answer 😪

However, one thing I can say for sure, and I know this is important for some of you, so I want to be clear. After some consideration, I've decided that last chapter will not follow the "evil" path, as some of
you might've understandably expect.
Why? To put it simply, the story would've been much, much worse. It's something I realized during
development of Divinion,
and confirmed during playing similar games: you can't make a good story with villain as a protagonist.
Period. You can make good game with a  truly evil villain as a protagonist, you can make serviceable tale,
but a proper, lengthy story- nope. It just doesn't work. So, I'd rather finish on a high note and disappoint
some of you than struggle with something I don't like and have it turn out mediocre at best.
After all, outside of strory, Divinion doesn't have any advantages.

On the other hand, there's my side project, which I mentioned in most recent post. That's where I
make use of my darker urges :) It's actually quite fleshed out already and certainly offers more content
than many H-games released in current scene, but considering its genre (it's bascially Fire Emblem-like
SRPG), it needs more extensive testing. However, early build will definitely be released before a sequel to
Divinion :) So - stay tuned. Tjord out!

  2. Shame. I really enjoyed the True Path and was hoping to see a sequel to it.

Are there or will there be any scenes between a male NPC & female Renan?
